Anna Thornton DVM
Dr. Thornton grew up in North Alabama and attended Auburn University for both her Bachelors in Microbiology as well as her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She graduated in 2016 and practiced in Lexington at a small animal clinic for four years before moving to Somerset with her husband. She enjoys creating lasting relationships with clients and their pets as well as ultrasonography and dermatology.
Cynthia Donovan DVM
Dr. Donovan graduated with a Bachelors in Zoology, and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1996. She practiced in Ellijay GA at a busy 6 doctor practice as one of the senior associates, and the main surgeon for 11 years before fulfilling her dream of moving to Kentucky to start her own practice. She has a special interest in soft tissue surgery, small mammals, knee repair, and extensive wound treatment and care. She enjoys spending her free time doing community service educating children about pets, the importance of education, and the field of veterinary medicine.
Amanda Tarter DVM
Dr. Tarter attended Eastern Kentucky University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture/Animal Science. She then earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. Following earning her veterinary degree, Dr. Tarter completed an internship in rotating medicine and surgery at Veterinary Specialists of South Florida.
Dr. Amanda Tarter has a special interest in emergency medicine and surgery. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is providing families with information to help them make informed decisions regarding their pet’s health and to improve their pet’s comfort and care.
When away from the hospital, Dr. Tarter enjoys spending time with her two children. They live on a small farm where they have chickens, cows, goats, cats, and dogs. She also enjoys gardening and cooking.
Carol Crosslin DVM
Dr. Crosslin grew up in Marietta, Georgia and attended undergraduate at The University of the South, in Sewanee, TN. There she earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology in 1989. She then took some time off from her education to facilitate her husband’s education at Wayne State University, and then residency at The University of Kentucky. Once he finished his training she was accepted to Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with her doctorate in 2000. She joined Lake Cumberland Animal Hospital first as a relief veterinarian, then as a part time associate. She has a special interest in abdominal surgery, behavioral modification in cats, and educating clients whose pets have chronic but manageable disease.

Eric Greenwell DVM
Dr. Greenwell grew up in Hardin County Kentucky. He spent several summers in Pulaski County attending summer camp. After graduating from Auburn University with a Bachelors in Animal and Dairy Science, he then received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. He practiced in Jasper,GA where he found his niche in educating clients in preventative care. He likes to help clients understand their pet's medical condition and how to incorporate the condition with their lifestyle, their pet's temperament and special needs.
